In my perfect world, the political exchange would be more meaningful than a popularity contest.  Perhaps if candidates with conflicting points of view were to come together to have substantiated debates, this country would have better foreign and domestic policies.  Unfortunately, the American public likes a controversy better than open discussion. 

Hopefully for the next election, they will develop a show where you can view candidates and vote for the president by phone, like American Idol, only they will call it the American President.  There will be a spelling bee and of course lots of singing and dancing.  Randy and Paula can stay because they represent the pimps and drug addicts of America but Simon will have to go.  After all, there is no place for foreigners in American politics (as is evident by America’s reaction to John Kerry’s wife- who is from Mozambique- Gross!).  What are your thoughts on who the remaining judge will be?  How about Oprah?  Not bitchy enough? They could stage debates like “Are you smarter than a fifth grader?”.. I mean really who’s more American than Jeff Foxworthy?  Ok, now I‘m getting carried away…. YEAH AMERICA!!
