Nook vs Kindle – Fight!

I was excited to receive my Nook today in the mail as I’m a big fan of eBook Readers. Being a Kindle user, I really thought the Nook was going to blow away the Kindle however I’m more confused than ever if I had to choose one and here’s why:

Amazon’s Kindle:
+ So much faster than the Nook, from browsing to turning pages
+ Skinnier and lighter (by 1.5 oz)
+ Smarter shopping: “Did you mean…” in the results if you mistyped as an example
+ Text to speech basically converts a book into an audio book which is great for long distance traveling

B&N’s Nook:
+ Browsing via the touchscreen is awesome. Really improves the usability & design of the device
+ Smaller in width and height
+ Contrast is better regarding background color vs. text color
+ Lending technology to other Nook users (which they’ll be plenty of as you’ll be able to snag one at your local B&N in the near future)

Both:
+ Accompanying iPhone apps & desktop apps
+ Similar book prices – no more than $9.99
+ Built in dictionary, bookmarking and annotation
+ You save trees

Regardless, either of these devices will make anyone happy which means if you NEED one for the holiday season, you don’t have much of an option since the Nook is sold out till 2010. Luckily the Kindle is still a great device!

I heard that the Nook was slower and confusing to use. I’m waiting for the Apple Tablet!!
