Apple’s iAd Mobile Advertising

// Monday, April 19th, 2010 12:03 pm GMT -5 // No Comments » // Advertising, Design

Apple is set to deliver a mobile ad platform by the name if iAd to one billion devices (iPhones, iPads and iPod touches). This ad platform isn’t just banners and text links. It is robust brand advertising that is as fully functional as a website or an app itself. Yes, ads that are apps within an app. iAds will be defining mobile advertising and will definitely shake up the mobile market. People aren’t searching on mobile devices, they are using apps so it only makes sense to enhance this experience. No one is happy clicking a banner and leaving their current site/app. This alone is brilliant. The ads have been hinted to be “premium” which sounds expensive. Sure they’ll make money from all this but I think it’s more for Apple to be the leader in this market. They want to to be the innovator in mobile advertising, reshape the industry and stick it to Google. Another tidbit is they’ll offer 60% of the revenue back to developers (ala Google Adsense) to help the creation of great apps on the App Store. And then HTML5! Every Flash shop in the country better be sharpening their HTML5 skillz. Anyway you see it, Apple’s new iAd is an exciting move.
Only problem is Apple will now massively once again control something else. Will they approve our anti/parody Apple ad?

Flash and AIR usage in Feature Films

Check out The Flash Blog for an interesting interview with a company called OOOii that basically specializes in using Flash and AIR for feature films such as Minority Report and Star Trek.

Interesting to see what they do for movies, their workflow, etc… Another example of a company succeeding using technology for a nice market.

So I hacked my iPhone in line waiting for the new one last Friday when a gentleman from Finland was asking if anyone had their old iPhone’s hacked for sale. So I immediately volunteered and hacked my phone and sold it to him which paid for my new one.

Hi,

Greetings from one happy Iphone owner! Our Florida vacation is now over and we are back in Finland. The phone works here perfectly and it also roamed at Paris and Stockholm airports. Youtube started working yesterday after I found (in the installer) a Youtube patch for ver 1.1.4. Iphone has not been sold in Finland until now. It is sold only by one carrier and it is not the carrier my employer uses – so getting one from the US was in fact the only way for me to get an Iphone.

I didn’t know that it was this easy to fix the Iphone. The people in the 3G-line didn’t really know if their phones would work with another carrier, so I got unsure whether it was at all a good idea to buy a unit. Luckily you were there and had all the information. It was impressive to see all that text flashing on the Iphone screen when you did the update right there on the street :-)

I still got next week off. After that it is time to return to work. I take care of media research projects. Right now we are doing eye-tracking on websites and magazines. It is interesting stuff so returning to work actually doesn’t feel that bad.

Thank you again for the Iphone. I hope you are satisfied with your new 3G unit and wish you all the best.

Your site design is the first thing people see it should be reflective of you and the industry easy to look at with a nice navigation when you can’t find what you want it causes frustration a clear Call to action to increase the temptation use appealing graphics they create motivation if you have animation use with moderation cause search engines can’t index the information display the logos of all your associations highlight your contact info that’s an obligation create a clean design you can use some decoration but to try to prevent any client hesitation every page that they click should provide and explanation should be easy to understand like having a conversation when you design the style go ahead and use your imagination but make sure you use correct color combinations do some investigation, look at other organizations but don’t duplicate or you might face a litigation design done, congratulations but it’s time to start construction follow these instructions when you move into production your photoshop functions then slice that design do your layout with divs make sure that it’s aligned please don’t use tables even though they work fine when it come to indexing they give searches a hard time make it easy for the spiders to crawl what you provide remove font type, font color and font size no background colors, keep your coding real neat tag your look and feel on a separate style sheet better results with xml and css now you making progress, a lil closer to success describe your doctype so the browser can relate make sure you do it great or it won’t validate check in all browsers, I do it directly gotta make sure that it renders correctly some use IE, some others use Flock some use AOL, I use Firefox title everything including links and images don’t use italics, use emphasis don’t use bold, please use strong if you use bold that’s old and wrong when you use CSS, you page will load quicker client satisfied like they eating on a snicker they stuck on your page like you made it with a sticker and then they convert now that’s the real kicker make you a lil richer, your site a lil slicker design and code right man I hope you get the picture what I’m telling you is true man it should be a scripture if it’s built right you’ll be the pick of the litter everyone will want to follow you like twitter competition will get bitter and you’ll shine like glitter if you trying to grow your company will get bigger design and code right man can you get with it
